At an altitude of 2,350 meters, I painted a mural inside the tunnel connecting the Gemmi Lodge 2350 with the upper station of the Gemmibahn cable car.The tunnel spans approximately 30 meters in length.
Visitors can view the mural on foot during summer via the historic Gemmiweg trail, or more easily by taking the Gemmibahn, which operates in both summer and winter.
The mural depicts animals native to this altitude, along with some of the highlights of the Gemmi Pass, including the Daubenhorn via ferrata, the impressive panoramic views, and—once completed—the depiction of Lake Daubensee.
Titled “WOLF -Gang”, the mural is a tribute to Wolfgang Loretan, the long-standing director of the Gemmibahn and Gemmi Lodge.
